Hi, I'm Dion

When I started as an artist I thought I had to copy someone's "style" to paint better.  But it wasn't my style that was the problem, it was the lack of understanding how light and shadow should be used to create more realistic and three dimensional paintings.

In this course I'll show you how applying the right colour, shadows and highlights will lead to more exciting and eye-catching images.

Using acrylic ink applied with brushes and airbrush techniques we'll apply vibrant base tones. 

Then with coloured pencils we'll apply details to create shadows and highlights to make your work more three dimensional.

COURSE OUTLINE

After our initial introduction we'll look at the materials used to create the final piece of artwork.

Next, we'll focus on composition, lighting and shadow through a series of thumbnail sketches before settling on our colour scheme.

Then we'll work on our final painting as I teach you the step by step process I used to complete the painting.

COURSE PROJECT

At the end of this course, using the techniques you have learnt, you can apply them to your own artwork.

You can upload your progress to the Community page to ask for help at any point during the course.
